AT FIRST IT WAS A BIT ANNOYING, HOWEVER IT
GAVE ME AN IDEA… THIS PROJECT: THE RESULT.

Context: A tradition ( at least in Mexico) of saving yourself from doing harmful activities or anything that could “summon the evil”. August 23 & 24 or as the locals know it “Dia de San Bartolo” or the day evil was defeated in biblical scriptures. A word of advice from every believer: “Abstain from doing anything unusual those days!”

BESIDES “THE MASTER OF EVIL” BEING AN INSPIRATION…
I decided mid-sketching the original piece, ( the hooded figure by itself ) that I wanted to make a connection with a soccer club from the Mexican league. Los Diablos Rojos de Toluca ( the red devils ), wanted to win the 2022 Winter Liga MX final, this title would’ve end their drought of twelve years without a title, and would have put them at eleven titles! The figures in the jars are a symbol of this feat ( Chivas of Guadalajara: Goat, Cruz Azul: Rabbit, and Club America: Eagle ) as they are, along with Toluca the Top-4 most victorious teams in the history of the league, with Toluca being only three titles away from number one: Club America. The illustration showcases how Toluca was dominating the tournament and proclaiming itself as a big team!
Everything from the initial sketch to the secondary sketches ( above ) were all made using Procreate app for the IPad Pro. Each idea was then finalized on Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, to get it ready for Merchandise ideas and concepts.
